Ant Man and the Wasp (2018): Film Review

Ant Man and the Wasp is a sequel to Ant Man released during 2015, followed by Captain America- Civil War and a prequel to Avengers: Endgame released in 2019.

Marvel Studios comes up with another spectacular artwork through Ant Man and the Wasp which easily bonds with the audience and keep them hooked to the screen. It showcases excellent acting, story, screenplay and action sequences with a punch of comedy. Directed by Peyton Reed (also directed Ant Man) and produced by Kevin Feige (the president of Marvel Studios) with Stephen Broussard.

Scott Lang (Ant Man) played by Paul Rudd is placed under house arrest by FBI for his fighting with Avengers against Sokovia Accords (for details please watch Captain America: Civil War). Meanwhile, Hank Pym, played by Michael Douglas, who is the first ant-man and a former agent of SHIELD (Supreme Headquarters, International Espionage and Law-Enforcement Division), plans a tunnel to the quantum realm to rescue his wife, Janet Van Dyne, played by Michelle Pfeiffer. Quantum Realm is a scientific term which has been used excellently by Marvel Studios in which the size of Ant Man is reduced to 100 nanometres (i.e. 10-19) and travels with more than the speed of light. His daughter Hope Van Dyne, played by Evangeline Lilly, helps him. Using the scientific theory of quantum entanglement beautifully, Marvel Studios explains the quantumly entanglement of Scott Lang and Janet Van Dyne through which Janet is able to send messages to Scott, since Scott has once came back from quantum realm, which we saw in Ant Man (2015). Hope needs to buy the last part for the tunnel where the seller of the part tries to buy their tunnel for another client. Here Hope turns into a wasp, an Ant-Woman with wings, and the action sequences start. However, the part is captured by Ava Starr, called as ghost, played by Hannah John-Kamen who is also looking for quantum realm tunnel to find a cure for herself. She also takes the lab with her which is in miniature form. The trio of Hank, Hope and Scott try to carry on with their experiments with the help of Bill Foster, an ex lab assistant of Hank, played by Laurence Fishburne, but it comes out that he is with ghost. The trio get to the lab, after tracing it with the help of the old suit of Ant Man, and capture it from Bill and Ava. As they try to activate the tunnel, they are intercepted by FBI. Scott flees but Hank & Hope are arrested. Ava disappears with lab. Scott then help Hank and Hope to escape from custody and gives them the lab. They again activate the tunnel and Hank gets into the tunnel with a vehicle to bring back Janet. Then action and chase sequence starts to reclaim the lab. Watch the movie to see what happens next.

The action sequences are well shooted. The humour continues to keep viewers happy and gay. The acting by the whole cast is good. In fact everything seems to have fallen in line in this movie. The movie is well received by the audience worldwide. It grossed more than $600 millions against a budget of $200 millions.

After the credits, it is shown that Scott Lang enters the quantum realm to get cure for Ava but gets trapped there till he comes out of it after a long time in the movie Avengers: End Game in the fight against Thanos.
